This year has been pretty magical for me. On the work front, I found a more harmonious version of myself. Started finding a lot of things interesting, easily moved, and adaptable.
Grateful for the people I’ve met this year, and thankful for myself.

What things have you done this year that you’ve never tried before?
- Participated in exhibitions, attempted to connect with potential clients, and explored sales or collaboration possibilities.
- Transitioned to the product department, no longer solely dealing with technical matters, requiring end-to-end thinking.
- Led the product team on two overseas closed development trips, resolving the most challenging issues.
- Participated in organizational restructuring decisions, bravely communicating the potential impacts I observed.
- Created disruptions to help the team “see,” gave a name to the introduced practices, and promoted them within the organization.
- Established a small cabinet within the team, conducting numerous case and observation sharing sessions to empower the team in decision-making.
- Collaborated with former classmates or colleagues who had left, experimenting for the sake of the product.
- Started interviewing overseas partners, paving the way for future collaborations.
- Invited to be a wedding host, realizing the need for personal and social improvement in life.
- Exercised at the gym once a week.
- Started meal prepping due to the newfound interest in fitness.
- Attended a week-long workshop entirely in English for the first time.
- Traveled to Europe for the first time.
- Started sharing my Outfit of the Day (OOTD).

What do you hope to have next year that you didn’t have this year?
To live more self-consistently in life.
Which day will be forever engraved in your memory? Why?
After the company sports day, I arrived late due to other meetings. When I got there, I witnessed the most beautiful scene
— hearing them encouraging each other, apologizing to one another.
I felt that it’s truly a fantastic team.

With long-time partners, the days in Europe
— during that month, I felt like we finally created some space.
What is your biggest achievement this year?
After completing some courses, the biggest attempt I made was setting clear goals, defining restrictions, and then empowering the team.
In the end, the entire product department started functioning, and we received some recognition.
It was the first time leading a team that received acknowledgment, and it feels really great.
What was the biggest failure?
Insufficient emphasis on the product and a limited professional network resulted in a higher threshold for new product attempts.
What’s the best thing you bought this year?
The best thing I bought this year is fitness coach sessions. They have had a significant impact on my mental state and overall health.
What are you extremely, extremely, extremely excited about?
I get extremely excited every time I hear that the team has made some excellent decisions on their own this year. While recognition is certainly rational, it brings great joy to my heart.
Is there a song that will always remind you of this year?
“Chicken Lay Eggs, Eggs Hatch Chickens”: This song was created by everyone during a certain meeting at the company this year, although it was not officially released. But this song is strongly associated with this year for me.

Compared to this time last year, are you now happier or sadder? Thinner or fatter? Richer or poorer?
I am now happier, thinner, and richer in spirit.
What do you hope to do more of?
I hope to find things of interest in life, so I will make more attempts in exploring this aspect.
What do you hope to do less of?
Hope to intervene less in team decisions, ensure continuous communication.”
What’s the best book you read this year?
What’s your favorite show?
“The Bear”: This year’s most inspiring series for me, depicting how a group of people runs a broken restaurant, full of ups and downs but with effective communication, and still progressing toward their goal.

What is your favorite movie?
“About Time”: It’s a daily life film that plays with the timeline but does so with profound meaning.

What is one thing that, if it happens, would make your year more satisfying?
The experiments I conducted in product gaining impact this year.
What helps you stay rational?
Not exactly staying rational, but this year I’ve developed the ability to deal with emotions and be more in tune with myself. (This started with a mindfulness course in 2020, along with various mindset shifts that followed.)
What is the most valuable life lesson you’ve learned this year?
Self-consistency at work:
There will always be aspects you haven’t considered, but knowing where you want to go and lead the team toward which goal.
Knowing that you’ve done your best, accepting the results, whether they’re good or bad, as long as you’re still alive, it’s okay.
Is there a quote that summarizes your year?
Tomorrow is going to be a better day unless you make it a worse day

“The Bear” — Season 2, Episode 7
So as you been coaching over the years
What would you say are the most important lessons of leadership that you’ve learned?
The very first thing is that, you know, in order to get better you change limits.
And when you change limits, You’re gonna look bad and you’re gonna fail.
And at West Point,I learned that failure was never a destination.
In other words,
When you are knocked back, you know,
figure out why and then change.
The other thing is that you’re not gonna get there alone.
You know, be on a team.
You know, surround yourself with good people
and learn how to listen.
You are not gonna learn with you just talking.
And when you do talk, converse, don’t make excuses.
Figure out the solution
And you don’t have to figure it out yourself.
I always wanted to be a part of a team and obviously I want to lead that team.
You know, what an interesting life it is to be a leader.
